Andrew Chen - Futuristic Play

Andrew Chen

Andrew Chen is a blogger and startup executive focused on advertising and social media. He writes the blog Futuristic Play and was most recently an Entrepreneur-in-Residence at Mohr Davidow Ventures (MDV), a Silicon Valley-based firm with $2B under management. At MDV, Andrew pursued initiatives in digital media and advertising, and was instrumental in MDV’s $20MM investment in Hi5. Prior to MDV, Andrew was director of product marketing at Revenue Science, where he co-founded the ad network business and was instrumental in growing the network to thousands of websites with over 5 billion ads served per month.

Amy Jo Kim - Shuffle Brain

Amy Jo Kim

Amy Jo Kim is the CEO of ShuffleBrain, a startup building smart games for social networks. Amy Jo is an internationally recognized expert on community architecture and game mechanics. She designed the social architecture for numerous games and online communities, including Rock Band, Ultima Online, There.com, Family.com, eBay, Adobe, and Nokia. Amy Jo is also the author of Community Building on the Web, a design handbook that has become required reading in game design studios and universities worldwide. She holds a PhD in Behavioral Neuroscience from the University of Washington, and a BS in Experimental Psychology from UC San Diego.

Jeff Veen - Small Batch, Inc.

Jeff Veen

Jeffrey Veen is one of the founding partners of Adaptive Path and project lead for Measure Map, the well-received web analytics tool acquired by Google in 2006. After five years with Adaptive Path, Jeff moved on to Google, where he led the redesign of their Analytics product and managed their web apps UX team. He left Google in May 2008 to work on personal projects.

Saar Gur - Charles River Ventures

Saar Gur

Saar is a partner at Charles River Ventures (CRV), with over 10 years experience working with entrepreneurs as a founder, investor and advisor. Prior to joining CRV, Saar was a co-founder of Brightroll, the world's leading Internet video advertising network. Saar has also been an angel investor and advisor to numerous companies including RockYou, Admob, Flixster, Xobni, Lotus Vodka, and Voicestar (acquired by Marchex, NASDAQ:MCHX). Prior to Brightroll, Saar was VP of online customer acquisition at Adteractive, an online performance-based marketing company and one of the largest buyers of online media. Saar began his career in investment banking and venture capital at Lehman Brothers.

Lance Tokuda

Lance is the Chief Executive Officer and co-founder of RockYou, and brings over 15 years of software and management experience to the company. Prior to RockYou, Lance held Vice President & Chief Technology Officer positions in consumer and enterprise web services companies Iconix and Open Harbor, and was an early employee (number four) at Resumix, now Yahoo! HotJobs. Lance holds patents in text extraction and document categorization, with an email patent pending as well, and has received the American Association of Artificial Intelligence Award of Innovation for work on spatial text understanding. He received his Bachelors and Masters in Electrical Engineering from University of Hawaii, and PhD in Computer Science from University of Texas.

Dave McClure - 500 Hats LLC

Dave McClure

Dave McClure has been geeking out in Silicon Valley for almost twenty years as a software developer, entrepreneur, startup advisor, angel investor, D-list blogger, & internet marketing nerd. His current passion is helping startups with internet marketing, product strategy, and startup metrics. Dave has been a conference chairperson for Web 2.0 Expo and Graphing Social Patterns, and is the founder of Startup2Startup, a monthly Silicon Valley startup entrepreneur dinner series. Previously, Dave ran marketing for job search engine Simply Hired and started the developer network program at PayPal. He is currently an advisor or investor for Mint, SlideShare, TradeVibes, TipMobile, Oortle, KISSmetrics, Spock, TeachStreet, Eventvue, RichRelevance, Mashery, Simply Hired, HealthUnity, & Canopy Financial. Dave barely graduated with a BS in Applied Mathematics from The Johns Hopkins University, and is an occasional guest lecturer at Stanford University on social networks & startup marketing.

Erika Hall is a founding partner at Mule Design Studio. Her specialties include audience-centered strategy, content development, branding, and information architecture. She has been lead information architect in redesigns for the Glaucoma Research Foundation, Six Apart, and College Track, among others. In previous agency roles Erika has worked with clients such as Electronic Arts (Content Strategy), EXPN (Community Strategy), and Xerox (Writing and Project Management). She began her career in Web design on the technical side, developing websites for IDG, a global leader in technology publishing. Erika received her BA in Philosophy from Dartmouth College.

Thor is CEO & co-founder of Get Satisfaction, a web startup dedicated to fostering new methods of communication and collaboration between companies and their customers. As a serial entrepreneur he is the co-founder of Rubyred Labs, a web development firm specializing in social networks, and Trapezo, a venture-backed startup that made Web software for syndicating content, acquired by Perfect Commerce in 2002. Previously, he founded a first generation Web development boutique, Prophet Communications, later acquired by Frog Design where he served as VP Digital Media.

Muhammad Saleem - ACS

Muhammad Saleem

Muhammad has been actively participating in various social media communities for over 2 years. He has written for a large number of high profile sites, both in an academic sense and from a marketing standpoint. Muhammad regularly speaks at conferences on the subject of social media optimization and marketing and their increasing importance to businesses at all levels. Most recently he was interim VP marketing at Xobni through their highly publicized launch. He currently lives and works in Silicon Valley, serving as marketing advisor to Xobni and other VC backed startups. Dan Olsen is a Web entrepreneur and consultant with 17 years of high-tech experience. At Intuit, Dan led Quicken product management and launched an online brokerage. He also led product management at Friendster. Dan’s areas of expertise are product management/development, UI design, marketing, and measuring/optimizing key metrics. Dan started Olsen Solutions in 2005 and has consulted to many start-ups including Box.net, YouSendIt, MoodLogic, Xing, Epocrates, and Angie’s List. Dan is CEO and founder of YourVersion, an early stage Web start-up focused on discovery. Manish Chandra - Kaboodle

Manish Chandra

Manish Chandra is the founder and CEO of Kaboodle, a social shopping website with over 8 million monthly visitors. Previously Manish was VP of Worldwide Marketing at Versant Corporation. In March 2000 he helped take Versata public as VP of Marketing and Products. Manish has also worked at Sybase and Intel, and has received an MBA from The Haas School of Business, an MS in Computer Science from UT Austin, and a Bachelor of Technology from IIT Kanpur (India).

Peter Pham - BillShrink

Peter Pham

Peter is CEO of BillShrink. He was previously VP Business Development & employee #5 at Photobucket.com, and was responsible for customer acquisition, strategic partnerships, and corporate development. Photobucket was acquired in 2007 by Fox Interactive Media, a division of News Corporation. When Peter left in 2008, Photobucket had grown to over 61M users making it the #1 photo sharing site and the 38th most visited site in the US. Prior to Photobucket, he was involved in multiple enterprise startups in areas such as mid-range server computing, software as a service, solid state storage, and mobilization of enterprise software. Peter has held multiple roles including sales, marketing, reseller channel development, product, and strategy. He holds a BS in Biological Sciences with a minor in Business Management from UC Irvine.

Garrett Camp - StumbleUpon

Garrett Camp

Garrett leads product design and strategy for StumbleUpon. He has guided the company's design and development since 2001, from inception to nearly 6 million members. Garrett completed his Masters in Software Engineering at the University of Calgary, where he researched collaborative systems, evolutionary algorithms and information retrieval. He is also a 2007 recipient of MIT Technology Review's TR35 award.
